Are you getting tired of your current marketing? Maybe your branding is starting to look a little stale. We’ll I’m here to tell you that it may not be the right time to start changing thing up.
You see, as entrepreneurs, we tend to have what I like to call “Shiny Object Syndrome” and we get tired or bored with things pretty fast.
The problem is that your marketing is going to take time. It’s said that you need to “touch” your prospects 8-12 times before they actually know who you are, what you do, how you can help them and actually trust your enough to make a buying decision. And even then, they may not be quite ready to buy yet.
You see, you’ll get tired of your marketing before anyone else will. In fact, just about the time you’re bored with it, it’s actually very likely that it’s just starting to leave an impression in the minds of your prospects.
That’s right! So many companies are just starting to build momentum with their marketing and then they change things causing them to have to start all over again to build that momentum back up.
So, plan to create a marketing plan or system that you’ll stick with for the next year. Something that won’t get stale too quick and will be easy for you to keep implementing. That’s one of the critical keys. We know that you’ll get bored with it before it’s really taken off. You need to make sure it’s something that you can easily stick with or something that you can delegate the actions to someone else. This way, you will stick with it for the long term.
Also, be sure to track everything. What’s your ROI (Return On Investment) for your marketing efforts. One of the biggest mistakes I see from MANY businesses is that they stop doing something only to find out that it was actually working well for them. So why did they quit? Because the guy in charge got tired of it. No other reason.
Remember that if it’s working… keep doing it. Even if it doesn’t seem as cool as it used to.
Your bottom dollar will thank you in the long run and nothing says you can’t do something else ALSO. Just don’t stop doing the things that are already working for you.
